Yeah, we all know that. I posted a picture of it with a label several posts up. The new challenge gun is that crude double-barreled break-open action firearm thing.
Hints:
It's made in the USA, but it predates the National Firearms Act of 1934.

A modernized version of the Ithaca Auto Burglar gun. Cast aluminum and a 1911 grip angle.
That's a pretty good description of it.
It's similar to the Ithaca Auto -Burglar gun, filling the same role. It was not as popular though --selling less than 10% of how many examples of the Ithaca auto & burglar gun were sold.
In some ways this thing's LESS modern, with the exposed strikers that have to be manually cocked.
And, obviously, this thing was not a minor tweaking of a design that was already used as a successful popular sporting double barrel shotgun.
