I have no need for night vision gear but I absolutely want some. I understand the good stuff is extremely expensive. Any recommendations for budget setups just to dabble in it? I've been looking at PVS-14's and PVS-22's on ebay that just shoot up in bids.

Hopefully you can find a spec range matching tube for your current one, if not, say hello to the migraines that you will get.
Im no operator. I wont spend hours a night under these, and with manual gain its not that big of a deal.
Shoot my first NVG setup was two pitbull housings on a bridge, one gen 3, one 2+, and still didnt get migranes.
Maybe some people are more sensitive to it than others?
Played around with a CZ Scorpion Carbine I have, Fired it on my Range the other night at a Steel plate at 100m's with five rds of 147gr 9mm. Total darkness, all 5 rds in a 4-6" Circle. Not bad with Gen1 NV..
