We’re having Christmas for my son before he deploys to Japan- he flies back to CA next Sunday. The wife said “my baby is not going to miss Christmas with the family” so tomorrow is it- we just put a few presents out. The wife has been cooking all day- sausage balls, fried squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, cream corn, apple pies, cookies, etc & I’m putting a 17lb New York strip loin in the smoker in the morning. All 3 kids have presents so it will be fun for 2 of them to have Christmas twice this year. My Marine will be 20 on 11/24 so technically we’re doing birthday and Thanksgiving too.
I know we’re not the only military family on here and others are probably doing the same for their loved ones that won’t be home for Christmas. Please remember those that won’t be home and say a prayer for all of our military and public safety sons/daughters- past, present & future.

I saw the title and was getting ready with the F bombs. Oopsy. Awesome story. Tell your Son thank you. This only continues as long as young Men and Woman are willing to raise that hand and swear to what is right. Merry Christmas good Sir. You have made this Country better.

Ditto. Awesome thing you're doing. Thank your son for his service and God bless him and keep him safe.

Thanks guys- he loves being a Marine and they’re making a man out of him. So much respect for everyone, even little brother (Taylor 16) that has given him such a hard time over the years. We were hunting TH and a 15” short tined 8 pt came out and he sent me a text- I told him to take it since he’s only hunting a week. He said no, that he’s gonna let it walk and maybe Tayor will get it. I thought that was really a nice thing to do.

That's a GREAT thing your doing for your son, to many Christmas holidays will be spent away from home while in the Marines. These Special moments will be with your son where ever he traveles , I can hear him now taking to his Marine buddies about the time his parents and siblings, had a very "SPECIAL" Christmas . Thank your son for me for his service.
