The solution:
1. Call Flea Busters and have them treat your yard and inside the house. Inside is a harmless chemical treatment that creates an inhospitable habitat for the fleas. The yard treatment will be nematodes that eat the flea larva. Both of these things work. This is less expensive than you would think and the local owner is a member of the ODT.
2. Give your dog a Capstar. This will kill every flea on them within a few hours. To be absolutely sure, give one to him/her for three days in a row.
3. Bathe the hell out of your dog to get the dead fleas off. If you use the Capstar, a flea shampoo is not necessary.
4. Religiously apply Trifexis every month regardless of time of year.
If you do not address all aspects of the flea infestation you will be wasting your time and money. If you half ass any of it you'll never be rid of them.
