Go to Gulf Shores in Alabama. It is just west of Pensacola. Nice white beaches. Not too crowded. Plenty to do.
There's no way I'd pick a beach on the Atlantic over a beach on the Gulf.
Check out Navarre Fl. Its between Destin and Pensecola.

Destin is a nice choice with the nicest beaches you will find. There are quite a few good restaurants and hotels in every price range. Sandestin has a lot to offer if you are going the hotel route. Watercolor/Rosemary have private homes for rent that are great and prices are more reasonable in the fall/winter.
If you want more secluded and elegant, you can look at Sea Island. The only 5 star dining in the state of Georgia(Chef Daniel is excellent) as well as a 5 star spa and 5 star hotel/resort. The Cloister is very old world but on the marsh side/there are beachfront rooms as well. The place can be a little intimidating and snooty unless you are used to the "private country club" vibe.
