Honestly, the way I see it, at the far left you have communism. At the far right you have Nazism. Frankly, I don't believe either of the far reaches to be very palatable and equally dangerous to our society. It is where the two can meet in the middle that has the best chance of keeping us all afloat. Obama, through no fault of his own has managed to bring the far right to the right forefront. The extreme right has taken over the GOP and they are far more dangerous than what currently encompasses the Democrat Party. The Conservatives today can't even agree amongst themselves, hence all the fragmentation - Tea Party, libertarians etc. which only serves to weaken them politically. You know...the old "united we stand; divided we fall" thing? The only thing they have to run on now is to be anti-Obama. What good will that be when Obama's term is up?
