I would like to get a long gun some time this summer but I am not sure what to get.

I would like to find something that will not have much recoil, I have a pacemaker in my right shoulder area and I do not want to cause it any damage. I have a couple buddies that shoot their 30-06 and I want to join in on the fun at 100 + yards.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have any other questions for me please let me know.

I have a 308 with a badger break and there's almost zero recoil.

In fact it's so light @ 10x - 15x I can see my trace when shooting at 1k.. Adding a quality stock that has some weight will also further reduce recoil look at Manners, Mcmillian, AICS, McRees, & XLR.

Semi auto 308 or .223 or even a 17hmr or 22mag. I love my 22 mag and it is deadly at 100 yards little to no recoil. 308 might be a bit much given the pacemaker.

Could you give me some examples of some of the rifles that would be a good entry level for me. I have gotten 2 hand guns already this year and the wife glares at me when I even talk about another gun, so I am going to need to be easy on the funds (unless I get closer to my birthday and then I might be able to get her to cave a little easier).

I have the same gun, I have a muzzle break on mine and my 12 year old shoots it all day.
Then I shouldn't have a problem with a 308. What brands would be the best to get in to? Also what other add ons would be best to get to get the recoil down, other than the break that has been mentioned already.

If you REALLY want more information than you can handle go join www.snipershide.com

In my experience 93% of the individuals on the ODT only own glock firearms. Lol

Good luck!
