People do the Pan American all the time on motorcycles, camper vans, bicycles etc.. There is about a 66 mile interruption to the route that goes thru the Darien Gap...Your gonna want to put your rig on a ferry to get between Panama and Columbia

I remember that.
They where lucky to get out of there alive. It wasn't near as benign as this article makes it sound.
