Looking for a good gunsmith.

I know Russ and go to him for smith work sometimes. He has done trigger jobs on a couple of different weapons for me (not a 1911) with mixed results. There is also some question about the time it will take to get it done. He's a nice guy, but I want to try someone new.

If that "Russ" is Rusty Kidd, there are people who swear BY him, and people who swear AT him--I am in the latter group, BTW--I won't trash him here, but suffice it to say he doesn't always deliver the "Quality" of Work he promises....mikey357

if brian can't he'll say so. honest man.

He can, but you're right he is honest as can be. Seems like he is always looking for a way for you to save a few dollars but not at the price of sacrificing quality. He is a full time business so he doesn't work at it for a hobby. We're lucky to have him around here.

I would say Brian Ott as well. I have not had anything done by him but I have only ever heard great reviews and he will be the one I go to for any smith work I need in the future.

Sounds like Brian is the man to see. It's a pity when your Glock, Kahr and Buckmark all have a better trigger than your 1911. That will not stand!

haha..True. Brian will get it right. Thanks to those whose posted his contact info..I lost his card and could not find it so I needed it too.

Bear, Brian fixed a trigger for me on a true POS revolver I once had...When he was finished I almost kept it because of the trigger.
