Looking for a new AR Trigger - need help

I am looking for a new trigger for my S&W AR15. I am a big fan of Timney triggers for my 10/22s, they are crisp and hardly have any issues. Are the Timney AR triggers going to be similar to the 10/22 triggers? Or should I go with CMC or another brand? Also, is it really a need to go with a two stage trigger? I am upgrading a good bit of my rifle for a KD Appleseed shoot up to 600 yards. After the trigger upgrade all I'll need to figure out is a good optic for the distance. I have my XLR stock in the mail right now.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Make a trip to georgia gun and try a bunch they have set up on display.

I use to go with a the JP Enterprises adj. trigger with the lighter power springs which made for a delicious trigger you could fine tune. However now that CMC is coming out with the lesser expensive drop in units it might be worth going that route. You can spend a lot of green on a drop in but I would still do the JP adj. job before I would ever pay 2 to 3 hundo for a drop in. That's just ridiculous! You have to fiddle with the JP for a few minutes but it's really not that bad but it's well worth the savings. I haven't used the CMC but I am leaning towards trying one just for the hell of it. The JP kits use to be like 110 but I think they have gone up. Lately I had success with using the lighter power springs and just working the trigger with a stone and then polishing them up real nice. However with this method you have to start out with a good trigger from a reputable manufacturer. The PSA P-TAK junk just won't cut the mustard.
