I’m in the research stage for a new scope. Primarily for hunting and would like 3-18 or greater zoom with at least a 50mm objective, zero stop turret (similar to Leupold cds, Swarovski or Night Force), simple plex reticle is referred, as light weight as possible (25 oz or less?), and good clear glass for lowlight situations.
Ideally I’d like to be able to compare several side-by-side with one another.

Who is you go-to store between Athens, Atlanta and even Macon that may have a number of brands to look at? I’m thinking Swarovski, Night Force, Leupold, Zeiss, Kahles, Leica, etc. I own a few mid to low tier Vortex (crossfire, diamondback, viper) and for what they are they are ok and wouldn’t be my first choice.

My choice for a hunting scope would be Swarovski, leupold,or Zeiss. The others will have reticles aimed at target shooting. Not saying these wont, but it'll be less cluttered IMO for hunting.

If youre going into kahles money, I would add Tangent and Z compromise.....

ZCO is the absolute clearest glass I've ever looked through in my life! It was incredible but it's about 4 X's what my budget allows...

This would also be an exceptional hunting scope IMO

300_whisper 300_whisper is a great dude to deal with!

Add Steiner to your list. I’m considering a 3-18 and the T6xi is on my short list. They tend to be a bit of the heavy side but tick all the other boxes (maybe the H6xi might be better).

Just another one to consider.

Leupold VX6HD 3-18×44 firedot with Duplex reticle, EuroOptic has em on sale right now for 1269 free shipping. Phenomenal glass for the money IMO. A tad shy of the objective size you are looking for, but definitely worth a look. Where to lay hands on one before you buy, try Kenzie Optics in Cartersville in NW part of the state. Elsewhere in GA, not sure where you could get a look at one in person (possibly Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna).

Probably gonna have to order and return the rejects. Optics Planet is an example of a seller that will do that but you need to make sure they can actually deliver everything at the same time.
