I am looking for a local safe moving company. We sell gun safes from 14-90 gun in capacity. I need someone that can safely move larger gun safes, probably in the 40-90 in size, up to 1200 pounds. We are located in Marietta, GA and are looking for someone that can deliver within 60 or so miles from here. I am not looking for a guy with a trailer, I am looking for someone that has the proper equipment to move a safe 75" tall and 1200 pounds. We are looking for someone to build a business relationship as we sell quite a lot of safes here.
Thanks,
Sean

Not really any of my business but what is the going rate that a company can pay to move a 1000 pound safe 25 miles?
I have bought a couple of safes and found that it can be very risky and frustrating. Have had people be completely wrong or deceptive with the description of what needs to be crossed to get the safe to the trailer. I guess they thought that I would not notice the wooden stairs that have to be crossed that cannot support a few hundred pounds. Much less a thousand pound safe and two 250 pound guys.
I guess the installers bring 3/4 inch plywood and build a ramp spreading the weight over a large number of stairs and slide it in.

Most companies start at $600 and up. I have a guy that charges minimum $450, min goes to $600 if he has to use plywood to make a pathway. I am trying to find someone for less as we will probably be doing a good amount of business. Have to have the right tools or you can get seriously hurt, or worse.

Where are you located. I need a safe.

Thanks for sharing the cost info. That is the ballpark that I guessed. That is why I have gotten good deals on a couple of big safes. I have found the smaller safes that weigh up to about 450 pounds are easy to move after you have done a couple. The 800 to 1000 pounders are completely different animals. Also a 450 pounder can hurt you, a 900 pounder will kill you if it falls on your chest or head. Even if you survive the impact no one can lift it off you.
