I’ve looked at so many Jeep Tj kits recently that I am dizzy. I want one between 3” - 4” and with no body lift involved. This will be a cruiser and light trail runner if that. None of the $500 kits impress me but I have no interest in the $2000 Curry level stuff either. I already have the SYE kit picked out but open to suggestions there as well. Jeep will run 33” tires with 5 spd and 4.0l. Anyone have any experience here or recommendations?

I ran a 2001 TJ with a 4" Rough Country lift and 35's back in the day. with 35's you will 100% want to regear the axles. Unsure on how 33's will do on stock gears.
The rough country lift was a decent kit. a little stiff for an everyday driver but that didn't stop me.

I was leaning towards 35’s but for the first time in my adult life tried to make an adult decision so I went
With 33’s 😁. 35’s look great on these old Jeeps but they are also a lot of wear and tear and parts replacement once things break. I’ll regear with the 33’s just don’t plan on it being as immediate of a need as 35’s would be. I’m leaning towards the tuff country ez-ride based on a few reviews. But not sold 100% either.

Good on you for doing the homework before buying. I repair a lot of front end collision 4wd trucks and Jeeps with lift kits, huge tires, offsets, and others assorted crap that was installed without thought other than man that looks cool.

I've been down that road before!

Ended up piecing one together. Rough Country 2.5" springs, Rancho RS5000X shocks and adj track bars and Terraflex Mega short SYE kit. Rides and drives and starts and stops great but def going to need to regear in the near future. Really easy install with a set of external spring compressors for the front coils. Rear just popped in with a little grunting and groaning.
