Looking to build a metal “barn” building

If you go north on 61, look for a metal lighthouse on the left (west) side of the road. I want to say it is past the BP and Macedonian church

Pour pad 6" thick of you're gonna put a lift in there.
Yep, 3000 PSI concrete. And you'll want 12 foot clearance too. I thought about that before I had mine built. 10 years ago, I'd have done it but I'm at the age now to where I'm just not going to be doing enough automotive type work to justify a lift.

i built one that is 32x40 for 6K. about half of the materials
are or were second hand. its a pole barn framed up inside
but no power and only a small section is concrete.

the biggest piece of advice i can offer you as far as longevity,is if you
do build a pole barn when you place your poles make sure they have
at least a few inches of stone packed at the bottom for drainage

OK update its now 3.5 months later still no barn but I have a handshake agreement (will sign contract soon) everyone in the business is slammed and weather is uncooperative.

I have decided on 40’x60’ , concrete floor, attic trusses for 14’ x 60’ upper loft / room.
Insulated
20’ x 40’ concrete pad at front end of building
16’ shed down one side
Will have pipe buried for water , toilets, electric

Windows and doors of course

What am I missing?

Make sure your grade throws water away from your building 360* and that the top of your concrete is 6" higher than the outside grade in case you decide to add paving or concrete which will be 4" minimum so water does not back flow into your building. Water water water is a building's enemy.

Excellent advise thanks.

This thread started before I bought my property a couple weeks ago.
It has a brand new barn on it. Inside is 40 x 48 and I need put the concrete in it
Any suggestions on conduit under the concrete and also will want a sink.
How do pre plumb for a sink? Also I think some conduit from side to side will make wiring
easier, what do I use for that?
