Have you tried a low back pressure suppressor? Which one? Would you say there was a substantial or marginal difference in noticing gas to the face?

I’ve seen Silencer Syndicate video on YT covering this topic and it’s helpful, I just like to get more opinions if possible.

I have one of the original flow through suppressors from OSS now Huxwurks. 100% do not recommend. The sound level is not quiet and the pitch/tone is horrible. The mounts have have changed since then but the one ones where proprietary and were bad about getting stuck.

They do push much less gas backwards through the system. I've found similar results by shooting an over-bore suppressor for caliber on the weapon ( a 30 cal can on a 556 rifle.)

So the concept is awesome and can be great from the shooters perspective if your well endowed government is buying and you require a modicum of sound suppression. The main issue is they quire a tightly engineered combination of suppressor - ammo - firearm to have good sound reduction (most folks that buy a suppressor want it to be quiet). When you see the terms self cleaning - easy to maintain - 3D printed - or no need to take it apart it the item will be consumable or disposable (no piece of kit that is powder actuated is self cleaning) and marketed to folks with large or unlimited budgets. It usually far cheaper and more effective for a civilian shooter to buy a durable serviceable suppressor and mitigate the firearms blowback. Big Mike has a great suggestion bigger holes in the baffles to let more gas by initially and appropriate endcap (you can also add or enlarge increase gas flow through the expansion chamber and or diffuser)

I have a lazarus 6 & a huxwrx 556 Ti. They both significantly reduce back pressure in my experience as compared to the polonium that I also own.

As a lefty, I really appreciate that. The hux does a better job at reducing gas to the face for me though. This is when shot from 11.5 inch ar15's.

I can't offer an opinion on sound as I've only shot these at indoor ranges lately.

Hope that helps.

waiting on my Lazarus 6, how do you like it? will mainly live on 5.56 uppers (12-16").

They definitely reduce back pressure but a system tuned for a standard can will run just as well and be a little quieter in my limited experience.

It's not too bad for as small as it is. It does great on the short barrels that I have and it's built like a tank.

I really need to shoot it at an outdoor range to get a better feel for it.

Just certified mine this week so will see when I get it.

I’ve got a 13.9” FCD/SOA barrel thats port is sized specifically for suppressed use. Will be curious to see if it works with the Lazarus 6.

I use it on 11.5 inch criterion core barreled uppers and it is exceptional as far as blow back is concerned.

I think you'll enjoy it.

I have a couple of the OSS/Huxworks cans, from the original in 30 cal to a newer Ti 30 and a brand new 556.

They aren't as quiet as my other 30/556 cans, but they do significantly reduce gas blowback in a semi gun. Not eliminate, but definitely reduce. If I shoot them outdoors it's unnoticeable.

As for tone, since I'm almost always in an indoor range I can't really tell very well. They seem fine to me but I'm not that picky on the esthetics as long as it does the job.

Some folks have mentioned that you can get the same result by tuning the gun, which is certainly true. But then you can easily end up with a gun that will only run well with a can. There may be cases where that's OK, but I prefer to avoid that.

Their mounting system is both a blessing and a curse. Because they are designed to tighten up when shot they never come lose on you like some other cans will. On the flip side, you may need a barrel vise and a strap wrench to remove them after shooting for a while.
