Ive been thinking about this for a while but i'm no gunsmith, more of a tinkerer.
I fell in love with these little carbine's and i have one with pitting in the barrel that would make an awesome foundation.

I have a few questions though for a professional smith.
1) How difficult would this type of build be(if possible)?
2) Ball park, how much would you charge to perform the work?
3) How much do .45 caliber barrels run?

I would really like to get this project started but honestly, i have no idea where to start.

Thanks in advance for any response!

I have a M95 carbine that I've been in the process of "tinkering with" for several years. A gun smith friend suggests rechambering it in .35 Remington. He says it would not be too much trouble. Just a thought.

I'd think the 45-70 would be too much for the receiver. It reminds me of a small ring mauser.

I really enjoy shooting mine also, I just picked stuff up to reload for mine, but load data is hard to come by.

I lucked up when I found mine. Sportsman's warehouse had tons of Nazi surplus ammo for under $3.00 for two clips of I believe ten rounds. Hornady loaded a hunting round for it also as well as Prvi. So I'm stocked for the apocalypse.
