All this hooplah is why I originally said I would go back to the Glock handguns, I shot the 19 awesome, but fell in love with tgw way m&P's fit my hand. After the sr22 incident I realized if for any reason the m&p failed due to the magazine not disengaging the safety, you'd be hearing about. me on the news. Its easier for me to get a glock 19 than it is for me to pick up a m&p without the mag safety.

Not really, I've seen far more guns with no mag safety. Probably on the order of 1 in 100 with the magazine safety. If you want that thing out, send it my way. I'll get you fixed up. There's no need to ditch the MandP over this.

You have to remove the sear block, remove a retaining ring, then pull out the pin, remove the lever and spring. Put it back together without the mag safety lever.
