I had the opportunity to shoot my new M&P Sport this past weekend with my Specwar, and the gas in my face was considerably less than when shooting my DDM4 with the same can. In fact I could hardly tell if I was getting any gas in my face. Does anyone else have experience with suppressed ARs that don't have a forward assist? I'm thinking maybe it helps to not have any extra space back there behind the ejection port.

My M&P Sport is one of worst guns I have for gas in the face... Must be something to do with the cans as well.

Interesting but I wonder if it has to do with ammo, gas port, etc. Some ammo I shoot is more gassy especially when the gun is already overgassed. I love my Syrac adjustable gas block so I can turn down the gas when suppressed.

I always wondered if those forward assist gas vents helped much?

I like a slickside upper on a 9mm or 22 SBR but not on a 5.56. An AR gas vent is a similar concept except it directs the gas away from your face.

The adjustable gas blocks like the Syrac or the Micro MOA or the IA WAR upper are the best options for reducing gas. But if you like to keep your original configuration, an LMT Enhanced Carrier combined with a gas busting charging handle works great.

Ammo, suppressor, barrel length, gas port size and location, etc... All these things play a roll is gas face. Seems like op got a good setup figured out.

One could always do the gasbuster style charging handle, fa vent, war upper, adjustable gas block, or other gas face fighting techniques. Hell, integrity arms on here has a non reciprocating left side charging upper thay doesnt have a rear charging handle. That should be good for no gas face
