touting M1 Garand. First line of article and video differ from title, claim
changes to "The M1 Garand is the greatest battle implement ever devised."
Not quite the same as article title 'greatest rifle of all time'.
To me greatest battle implement says it beat out the catapult, chariot,
gatlin gun, steel helmet, and the jeep.

It's second best. #1 is the M14/M1a. Same basic design with a 20 round detachable mag.

While I really love the M1/M14 family, what about the 800 lb gorilla in the room named AK-47?

So many produced, in so many different countries, involved in most every conflict since it was introduced, still in production...with so many variations. While certainly not perfect, it would have a very strong claim to that title too.

The M1 Garand was the Military Service rifle for less than 20 years from 1936-55.
The M14 is the U.S. military's worst service rifle. serving only 6 years.

The AR rifle has now been in Military service for 55 years from 1965-Current

That's like comparing a Ford Pinto to a Lamborghini and saying the Pinto is better because there were more of them.

I don't think that most people consider cost or if a girl can shoot it when determining the best rifle.
