M855 panic has hit the ODT

I don't think so. I thought all the xm855 that was never taken by the military was part of the reason for the civilian supply.
The x in XM855 means it was designated for civilian sale. M855 I believe, is still in use. We get it cheap since ammo manufacturers often make more than is needed for the military contracts since it is often unknown how many will be needed when an order is made, also because of how large of quantity it is made in.

I tried to get some clarity on this before. If the military doesn't take possession of it it can be sold to civis. If the military takes possession then it has to be broken down into components and reassembled like the XM193I (Israel reassembles). And then there's some they just make for commercial use.
