Pretty much a bunch of fluff hooey for the local indigs. It's common knowledge that alligators are in the creeks and in Bond Swamp around the Democrat Republik of the Macongo.

That whole shopping center was built on a damn swamp. During the 94 flood a guy who worked with my first wife was Rednecking around in his new Toyota 4WD and couldn't see the creek that separates the two sides of the lot and drove right off in it and drowned.
Back in grade school we took a field trip to that McDonald's. Actually it was the original McDonald's in that location. While we were there they showed us on the back side of the building how the whole place was sinking into the ground. Shortly after that they levelled it brought in a bunch of gravel or other filler and built the one that sits there now.
It's all low country down there I was at Houston Auto Auction and the owner Aubrey took me riding around on a gold cart looking for a Ford Fairmont. We rode WAY back in the woods behind the auction and there's more cars back there than at most junk yards. And most of them were under water back in 94.
