I made a trip down to Cherokee Gun and Pawn yesterday to pick up a new AR lower receiver now that the AR insanity is over. They had a few choices at reasonable prices including these MAG billet lowers...Nothing too fancy and priced right at under 180 bucks. They also have some LPKs and Buffer assemblies, a few uppers...pretty much everything you need at decent enough prices. I had never built or even owned a billet lower. Other than everything seems a little tighter than what I'm used to, everything went right in. I had to lube some pins here and there and this is the first lower I've had that I can't take down with just my thumb. But a little pressure with a bullet or punch and it opens right up. I like the raised areas where the hammer and trigger pins go. This allows use of AR10 type pins. The longer pins in theory are more stable as there is more material on either end of them to hold them secure with the same amount of pin unsupported through the middle. It just makes sense. They are included with the lower. Just replace them in your LPK before starting your build. Overall, I'm very pleased with the build though I haven't shot it yet. I can't imagine that being an issue but if for some reason it is, I'll update the thread.
