magpul "gray"

this is the first magpul "gray" item i've purchased and i got a nice surprise.
based on the pics i thought it would be really gray match but it is almost black. did i got a defective product or is their gray really this dark?
so yeah, here is a pic of the magpul "gray" for you to be aware.

They are dark. Like a smoke gray and not dove gray.

It won’t look as dark once you mount it to your black rifle. It’s a good balance of color in my opinion
