i dont tip at all if gratuity was added in for meI tip a little over 100% at the Waffle King. They give all LEO, EMS, Hospital staff etc in uniform a 50% discount. So my meal that usually runs about 8.50 ends up at 4.25 and I leave a 5 dollar tip. Sometimes a little more..just depends. I never have understood why the tip is based on the amount paid for the meal. It should be based on things like glass refilled without asking, not having to get up and go find the server, napkins, hot coffee and smiles. I mean...If I go in a diner to meet with someone, and only drink coffee but tie up a table for an hour or so...what? I'm going to tip 15% of the price of a cup of coffee with bottomless refills? no way that's fair. One thing to watch for I've learned is when you have a large party and they include the tip in the bill. I wonder how many people don't notice and figure a tip on top of an already tipped bill? I am pretty sure I've double tipped before...probably a lot when alcohol is involved lol
