Yeah crazy how they shot up. I have one that my dad gave me as my first rifle and still got it. He bought it from Wal-Mart back in the dayMan, I remember the first shop I worked in, we sold these things used all day long for $279.

This one ain’t a bad deal for the price. I wouldn’t mind taking the wood furniture off this one and putting it on mine.Same.
Guessing it was about 10 years back when the market flipped on these. Local gunshop owner and I were talking about the old lever guns. He said he bought them all spring for $100 dollars and sold them back to the same people for $300 in the fall. Basically renting them a gun for $200 a year. We were talking about 35 Remington ammo being scarce, guy walks in wanting to sell a 35 Marlin, he says I can't give you but $100 cause ammos is scarce and buys the rifle for $100.Man, I remember the first shop I worked in, we sold these things used all day long for $279.
Luckily the 30-30 is still around. We talked about it the other day how 30-30 is still in demand.Guessing it was about 10 years back when the market flipped on these. It still does the job it was designed to do. Old rifles were built pretty solid to.Luckily the 30-30 is still around. We talked about it the other day how 30-30 is still in demand.
Mr "Know-b0dy", do you work in that store?View attachment 8231357View attachment 8231358View attachment 8231359View attachment 8231360View attachment 8231361View attachment 8231362I was at Quiet Riot Firearms in McDonough today and they had a very nice and clean Marlin 336 in 30-30 for $599.99.
It was pretty clean and didn’t appear to have any rust. Had a JM stamp on the barrel, gold trigger, and cost bolt safety.
I know they are closed tomorrow but surely a good deal for someone!

The JM stamped ones do and the Ruger built ones look nice! But I would not buy a Freedom group rifle. It still does the job it was designed to do. Old rifles were built pretty solid to.
