marlin
Thanks a lot it seems like everyone is saying to get the marlin.Marlin, and here is why:
Proven action for hot 45-70 loads. Marlins model 1895 is one tough rifle. I am not knocking Henry because I think they make nice rifles, but for my money I want what is proven not what looks promising. Marlin has Proven metallurgy, meaning, they use strong enough steels to withstand decades of use. I would suggest getting an older JM marked barrel rifle but the new ones are coming around to where they are pretty good now. In 45-70 Marlin gives you lots of options from a short barreled guide gun to a 26" barreled rifle with a full length magazine tube. It holds nine in the tube and is awesome, love mine. You can get a lot of options in-between as well. Lastly, get a JM Marlin and your rifle will hold its value better. I don't see Henry rifles maintaining value like JM Marlins. That is the best summary I can give at this hour while on vacation. I'lltry better if I have too. Hope it helps.
