No, it's a model 1898, in 1908 they shipped a lot to Brazil. The next year 1909, Argentina bought 1898 Mausers. The 1909 is considered by many to have the best action, the only difference that I know of from the 1908 Bazillion was a hinged floor plate. These were built in peacetime before the start of WW1, production short cuts happened after the war started.
The rifles were produced by DWM, then owned by the Ludwig Loewe Company. DWM, in turn contracted some rifles out to Mauser Oberndorf, which was also owned by Loewe at the time. The maker of any particular rifle can be determined by looking at the address – if Berlin, it is made by DWM. If Oberndorf, it is made by Mauser. The DWM made rifles are more commonly encountered. The contract ran from 1908 until the outbreak of war in 1914.
