Mayan End of World Dec 2012 ?

My highschooler and her friends dug up info on the Mayan calender.
The Mayans didn't take into account Leap Years, that extra day every 4 years. According to their actual time line the woorld should've ended 7 months ago. Remember Y2k ? It's ok to be prepared for emergencies that can and most likely will happen but to obsess and go to extremes can tear people, families, communities and the world apart.
I'm preparing for the morning of Dec 22, 2012. Gonna have a bacon, egg and cheese bagel with a tall glass of OJ ! Anything before or after that will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Hyperinflation
Food/Water Riots
Real/Faked Terrror Attacks followed by Marshall Law
FEMA Camps
"Final Solution" type activity from the Govt
etc.
etc.

The Mayan's didn't declare the world would end Dec 22, 2012, the calendar they made ends then. They could have been wiped out at that point and not had time to continue it.

we are the ones that will cause the issues, gas prices will rise, we will all run and buy food and create the collapse ourselves. The Mayans are laughing now because they knew we would run around like chickens with our heads cut off!
