I need an outboard mechanic who is good with carbureted Mercury/Mariner engines. Outboard is a Mariner 3 cylinder 40 hp, 1998 model.

Hopefully someone will give you a tip on someone local who does good outboard work.
If not, "I know a guy" named Isreal at Buck's Island in Gadsden, AL but that will be a long drive for you. He does great work on my Mercury 240 Sport Jet and is the only I trust to work on it. It's hard to find someone who does reliable work on jets so I have no problem making that drive.

I have family close to there, if he is good. This outboard ran great for years with no problems, but then it sat for over a year due to family issues.
I'm sure it just needs the carburetors cleaned.
