Military Coining

Happy retirement, you'll soon wonder how you
got everything done while you were working.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade but
just for general clarification, 'coins' can only
be made by a nation's mint like our U.S. Mint.
Any 'coins' made by private mints or other
entities are medallions, tokens, etc.

You are correct. It’s not a coin but the term they use in giving them out is called coining.
