Military guys....have you ever lost your best friend?

Remember the good times as well as the bad times it is all apart of the healing process. I miss my good friend Matt everyday and it hurts every time I see pictures of his children that will never know how great their dad was because they were very young when he died. I always pull out the old photos and try to remember the good times when I get down and it helps cheer me up some.

Drank myself to sleep and feel better today. Thank you everyone for your words. This is a great community. Mike and I were stationed together when Saddam started the invasion. We deployed several months before the Gulf War started. USAF Combat Comm.

Sorry for your loss brother. God picks his favorite flowers first; the rest of us have more to learn.
Thank you, did not mean to hijack the thread. I never served, but I am an army brat, from a line of army and navy officers.

OP: it sucks terribly, and the pain never really goes away.
Drinking does not help. I wish it did, but it does not.
Valerian root will help you to go to sleep. I still do not sleep more than 4 hours, but is non-addictive and does not give you a hangover.
Kroger has it in the Vitamin section.
