Missed my court date yesterday...

I'm filing a motion. I did the work for this guy so NO he is not getting away with this. I am suing him for 7200 he countered it for 3600 he was awarded 2400 don't know how they got that saying I didn't do any work in the 4 months. I have pics documents he paid me all 4 months of service. I have a signed contract for a year. He's wrong! I'm not letting him get away this easy so he can take advantage of other like y'all!
This is pretty serious as it involves my livelyhood I don't appreciate the jokes. I was asking for help not belittling. I struggle every winter making it to spring. I've been taking care of my mom in South Carolina with Parkinson's back and forth all winter it has taken a toll on me and my family let alone my bank account.....

The way I see it, you have a few options. Pay or don't pay the 2400. It's hard for him to come and get it anyway. Unless you have a bunch of money in the bank that he knows about.
Get A decent attorney and you can probably revive the whole case. You have to come up with a decent excuse for missing, and I doubt you'll be taken seriously if you miss anything again.
If you wait more than a few days, they may not let you revive this case. I would not wait.
It sounds like, from what you have said, you may have a reasonable chance for a decent judgment. You have to decide whether you want to play cards.
I would think the Attorney might run you 2-4000 OTD, and you might have a 50% chance of a $7000 judgment. That's better than him having a judgment against you.
So I wouldn't dick around for one minute, I would get a good attorney on it today. You screwed up my missing, but you don't have to rollover and be eaten.

I know it's not personal. I'm the one that filed and I didn't miss on purpose and from what I understand it happens a lot that's why you can file a motion. I've been to court before and I had a perfect record until Monday. I won 2 cases last year and represented myself.
I filed my motion today so I'm waiting to hear back within a couple days.
Question, and I don't mean any angst, but why didn't you have a lawyer to start with?
It's small claims up to $15000. In my opinion no need for an attorney.
