While I agree with you on Liam Neeson, he's come out as a typical Hollywood liberal that speaks out against gun rights, so I;m not so keen on supporting his flicks anymore.

Well, based on that criteria....I guess that leaves us with Stan Smith or Peter Griffin...

Sad, isn't it? What's even sadder is the amount of credibility these actors get for their political beliefs. Has it occurred to anyone that they spend their lives in the world of make believe? It's a little like going to Keith Richards for trumpet lessons.

I haven't seen the guy who plays Mitch Rapp, but there is no way the could could screw up the casting worse than they did by casting Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.

Agreed...Jack Reacher=6'4"@250#. Tom Cruise = 5'4" 150#. How could they miss that!!!

I have read the entire published series.....some are better than others but all are good reads.

Same here...I'm currently on the 8th book of the Scot Harvath series. Pretty good but Rapp is better. I think there's a new Reacher coming out in November.

THE Jason Bournes and Jack Ryans of this world are seemingly out of the movie game for now. Perhaps for good.

Therefore the way is clear for a younger, hungrier, and cooler spy guy to step forth from the shadowy world of international espionage.

So say hello to (and then duck for cover from) Mitch Rapp, a can-do counter-terrorism operative rapidly and ruthlessly rising through the ranks of the CIA.

I sort of pictured Rapp as more clean cut but we shall see........

If they are talking specifically about CIA agents they may be right, but as far as movies with highly skilled agents go they seem to be forgetting some things. Jason Bourne was just last and there were four movies not counting the Legacy movie. Jack Reacher's sequel was last year and The Kingsmen 2 is coming out this month.

No doubt the interrogation scenes will be very different than they are in the book. Also, that ain't Mitch Rapp.

No idea if this will be a good flick or not, but as far as Rapp goes, the actor matches the description. Mitch Rapp is described as 6'1" and around 185-190#. He's a lean, fit guy, not large. The actor is 2" shorter at 5'10", but with the correct build.

Remember that Rapp, along with several of the seal team members, all had dark hair and skin, and they often grew longer hair and beards in order to blend in when undercover in the middle east. Rapp even impersonated Uday Hussein in one of the books.
