My first cousin, Jim, pulled of his belt when his oldest son was 14. The 14 year old threatened to call DFACS. Jim told him to go ahead and call the Sheriff and Hospital too. Jim said "If you call DFACS, I'm goin to jail and you are goin to the hospital."

I told my boys disrespecting mom meant the hospital for them and jail for me. Never came even remotely close to acting on that threat. I did not spare the rod but never ever used it incorrectly.
