I rescued mine, he LOVES puppies and is so gentle that's why I want a pup. I looked at other dogs in shelters and most of them challenged him so that hasn't worked out

I am getting a new pup in Jan.Gonna be a female this time.Always have had males and never neutered em.Looking forward to a new baby.

It ALWAYS depends on the individual dogs. Breed has a lot less to do with it than most people think. They are either going to like each other or they're not. Remember that as a dog reaches maturity, there will be a push for rank in the pack. This can cause some problems, but most of the time they will get it worked out. You can step in and correct them for letting a tiff get out of hand, but DO NOT try to make them behave as equals. It's when two dogs are close to equally matched socially that most of the truly nasty fights happen.

Also, as only a generality, two females that start fighting can be much worse than a mixed pair or two males. Males have a tendency to get it on and get over it. Females will sometimes hold a grudge.

You never had my 2 males.Never in my life seen such.Had to keep them separated always after that first encounter. They really hated each other and pretty much everything that moved.

Pitbulls, being a fighting breed are best to only have together when you can supervise. I would never leave them alone together (or with any dog) just to be safe. Depending on breeding they can and will fight till one is dead. I speak from plenty of experience, not just a casual observer. You can pm if you have specific questions.
