Murder Kroger living up to its name.

It's actually surrounded by some of the most desirable neighborhoods in Atlanta. There are a few rough areas nearby but it's customers are typically pretty well off. I live less than a mile away and shop here on occasion.

No I'm actually a home builder so I know real estate pretty well. Virginia-highland, Druid hills, morning side, Inman park are all very established neighborhoods with new homes and decent older homes starting around $1M. Ponce city market (old Sears building) is right next door and opening now with some of the highest rents in Atlanta plus tons of office and retail.

When the wife and I are discussing which Kroger to go to it used to be between Murder Kroger and Ghetto Kroger. I still frequent both regularly, but Edgewood is my main go-to. Does it have a name? Maybe Carjack Kroger?
Over the last decade or so they've been trying to rebrand a bunch of blighted areas and get folks to move in. Real estate agents hype em up as being "hip" "transitional" and the " place to be" in order to open up the pockets.
I've seen what appears to be clueless fairly affluent people walking in areas they wouldn't have dared even showed their skin color in 15 years ago. I think many are just naive and walking around with their heads in the sand. With the down turn in the economy over the last couple of years the yuppies and social experimenters have become nothing more than targets again in a lot of these areas.
