My conversation with the ATF

I was going to suggest: Smear it with bacon grease and make it a giant chew toy for your dog.
But then, it's still in your possession. What if your dog doesn't chew it up badly enough to really destroy it beyond repair?

MAYBE IT'S BETTER TO JUST MAKE IT GO AWAY. LEAVE YOUR PROPERTY, FOR GOOD.

If you get it out of your possession by the deadline, how could anybody charge you with a crime?
If you don't possess it, it ain't your problem anymore.

Drop it in a deep lake with an old tire tool taped to it. And I don't mean your private lake or pond on your property. A public, navigable body of water.

How about you send it to your least-favorite politician, and have it postmarked the day before the deadline. Preferably some politician who is known to be anti-gun and wants to put more private citizens on the opposite side of the law from the cops who are tasked with enforcing gun control laws.

Or, use a few dozen helium balloons to send it away, floating off to parts unknown, perhaps even to another state or nation, or international waters out at sea?

Yeah, that would do it.

I'm no fan of the ATF but being mad at them over bump stocks is barking up the wrong tree. They approved bump stocks, they stood by that decision after the Vegas shooting. The executive branch of government, Donald Trump, forced this rule change on them.

So no, they don't want your bump stocks, they never did. If you're angry and want to do something out of spite mail your bump stock to the white house. They are the ones who want them.

I read the whole decision. The very end of it is a summary, where you can almost hear the authors rolling their eyes.

Send them to Hillary or Pelosi , Let them figure out what to do with them. As long as it is not in your possession after the deadline you are in the clear.

Possession is 100% of the law here. Anyone caught with one is an immediate FELON. Make sure to send them the day before the deadline so they have possession after.
