My high school graduation present was a solid Mahogany K&E with a hard leather case with snap attachment. I was the nerd's nerd.

I actually cried when it got stolen because I knew if would never be replaced, and I had lost the only social status I had.

My father knew how to use a carpenter's square as a slide rule. He must of showed me how 100 times, but I never got it all. That was really old school.
