You are correct. Many dogs need a trip to ER vet when bitten but it does hit them different. You would 100% get a trip to ER and anti-venom if bitten and you would have extreme swelling. Some folks require multiple injections of anti-venom. I've read some stories and the cost for snakebite treatment at a hospital is ridiculously high.
