Was able to harvest 4 juicy deer this year. Started off using my typical 300winmag suppressed taking my first of the season with it. But then I'm big into military surplus and have an old 1869 swiss vetterli in the oringinal .41swiss that I've always wanted to drop a deer with so I set out to do just that. As luck would have it on my first morning out with it I accomplished my goal dropping my second doe of the season with this rifle. Then a new love of hunting with odd balls struck. It was much fun and less boring then my modern rifle. So I decided I wanted to go after a deer with my Romainian PSL in 7.62x54r. After a couple of days of seeing nothing success! Downed my 3rd Doe of the season. Unbelievably happy and waiting for more doe days in my county and getting ready for a competition I put my deulimg tree at 100 yards and ran it with my competition AR15 it was loads of fun then decided to try a few pot shots with my 10mm glock 40 mos and on the first shot drilled the playe I was aiming at! Followed by 3 consecutive hits to the center post just right of tje playe I was going for then 2 misses and 1 more contact with a plate. So thats when I got the idea, I wanted to hunt with it now knowing 100 yard shots on 4inch plates was do able hunting should be fun and challenging with it. Well yesterday my last day of the season I did what I set out to do and brought down my 4th Doe of the season with a 55 uard pistol shot to the high neck. It was a lights out shot she never heard the shot go off fell right where she stood! It's been a great hunting year! Can't wait to plan put the firearms I want to use for next season.
