Just wondering, doesnt the mosquito come with an extra spring to be changed out so you can use the bulk rds? Does it not help?

Doesn't help from my experience. Never kept one long enough to smooth it out but if I were to keep one I would switch to the low velocity spring leave the slide cocked back about a week and do a trigger job. I did a 300 round safety check on a mosquito and although cheap the ammo was listed as high velocity. Constant failures to fully eject, several didn't clear the slide when they did eject and slide wouldn't come back to to strip a fresh round if it did eject fully.

The ruger has a fairly weak recoil spring and an aluminum slide, both of which should help greatly increase the types of rounds it'll cycle. I'd be willing to bet that my semi auto 22 rifle has about the same amount of mass to move. It also has dual recoil springs and a decently stiff hammer spring to fight against. I think the next time I have them both apart I'll weigh the bolt and slide just to compare!

I had one for a couple of weeks. Then I let my father-in-law shoot it. He wanted one so badly, I went out searching for another one to no avail. So I sold him mine and used the money to buy myself a 22/45. :pop2:

They are fantastic plinkers. If you've ever shot a Walther P22, it's a lot like that.. But better.

Im very impressed by my SR22. I took it out before cleaning the factory grease out, ran 200rds through it, and still only had 2 failure to completely eject from a Winchester 525 pack. IM sure now that its cleaned and lubed it will do even better. The DA pull does suck, but with more trigger time maybe it will smooth out.

If it makes you feel anymore warm and fuzzy, willr1 a fellow odter is a certified firearms instructor and the sr22 has been added to the list of his training aids, so if its good enough for him to use, and he thinks its good enough to teach my fiance fundamentals with, then it has to be a reliable pistol. :)

My son in-law bought one and we put about 300 rounds thru it. It swallowed 4 different brands of ammo and was very accurate for a short barrel. It felt good. I liked it.
