Only way I’d run any optic on a gun I would use in self defense, would be co witnessed with Iron Sites.

If you can’t hit an A-zone at 10yds with NO SIGHTS… you don’t belong anywhere near a handgun IMO.

I have a HE507GR on a HK VP9, HE407GR on a HK 45 USP and an MRS-GR on a Ruger LC 45 and they all have worked flawlessly.

Can’t fault the optic, they all will fail.

But is 4+ week turnaround reasonable? I’d expect that for a budget brand, but for an established “top tier” brand… I’d expect a bit more of a white glove service.. especially if their failures are so rare as everyone claims.

I’ve had a vortex optic replaced in less than one week… i paid for next day… they in turn covered next day return shipping.

While you’re probably have to use the vortex warranty… their service is second to none.

I do fault the optic and their warranty time. I’m not really impressed.
I have three vortex optics and I actually like them.
