My wife picked out this 38 Special for her purse-hope she can handle it ok.
Taurus 605 Protector Poly 5 shot P-rated , 2 inch barrel
Picked this one over some stainless models because it had the longer grip.
Comes with 2 reloaders and supposedly a holster.

You need to take her to the range a bunch and let her shoot it and get used to it. She needs to be comfortable with it. Not just holding and carrying it but actually shooting it ! Get some lighter rounds to shoot with and a few defense rounds for carry. She needs to shoot a few of the defense rounds to see what they feel like but practice with the lighter rounds. This is just my opinion.
Good luck !!

In for details. These ain't pretty guns by far but I dig the concept. And they do look a little better than the Ruger LCRs . I have never shot or even held either one but it would interesting to be able to do a head to head on them.

Dang bro not a good learner revolver. A little more heft if she is a tiny one...
Wive(s) typically started with a hammer less, rarely shooting but getting use the the idea first.. from there grow into a J frame with a little grip mod...
Progress not perfection...
She will be fine...
Alas safety training classes make women feel part of something...
Always the hope in never is used in anger...

As long as SHE picked it out. I can tell you from the experience of getting it wrong two or three times that you as a man can NOT just pick the right handgun for any woman. That's like trying to pick out a bra for them. They have to pickup a dozen different makes and models and decide what they feel comfortable with.

You will still get blamed..... and you know days tru...

My wife and daughters all have the Lcrs I also have the 22 lcr that I thought all to shoot with and know the functions of gun.of course the recoil is worse on the 38 but she will never notice in self defense.my motto in self defense is to never take it out of pocketbook unless you gonna pull the trigger.
