I grew up fishing but Im no avid fisherman. My fish identification abilities are pretty limited as a result. I reeled this in about an hour ago and put up a good fight for his size. Got some pretty good teeth on him too. Pictures arent the best either. View attachment 721360View attachment 721361

That's a Chain Pickerel, but I'd imaging with this many posts someone has told you that already.
A lot like a pike, don't get as large though.
Biggest I ever caught was 39".

I agree, bony, but a very sweet tasting fish.
A freshwater barracuda they'll hit anything with a vengeance. Lol
Oh and don't reach in to get the hook out, pliers are the way to go!
