Every now and then you will see Nazi collectibles pop up on Craigslist. Last year there was a gentleman with the V-Day newspaper in a nice framed glass case. He also had a tattered Nazi flag, and his prices weren't bad. I wanted the flag to put in a case, but he wouldn't sell just the flag, it was all or nothing

Ha! I'd have rather had the newspaper. As for weapons, It would make me happier to have a bayonette that was once in the heart of a nazi.

I love OLD history...roman coins, places that have historical significance or that some event took place in. When I was in Germany went on castle tours and walked stairs cut in stone that were worn down from hundreds of years of people walking them. 3-4 foot thick walls with arghery slits in the turrents. One of the eeriest I ever saw was called the Beinhaus(bone house). It was behind the church in Oppenheim Germany. During the black plague the people burned the bodies of the dead and they stacked the bones up in this room.

Someimtes memories are all the souveniers we need.

Bone-stacking is quite common all over Europe. There's a basement full of preserved bodies in Italy, hanging, standing, laying. Creepy ish!

The part I found freaky was the shiney spots on the foreheads of the ones at chest hight. Took me a minute to realize that it was where people had "polished" them by touching them. Seemed disrespectful and downright creepy to me.

Well, let's see. There's a lot things I could start with; let's start here:
I collect ww2 nazi stuff on a small scale. I have a nazi flag that has the GI's name written on it, the date of capture, his unit and approximate location. I've got bayonets, rifles, an Iron Cross and bunch of other metals. Shrine? No. Am I a nazi lover, no.
I also like Russian, Chinese, Yugoslav, Romanian, Bulgarian and East German weaponry and collectibles. I am a communist? No.
With the exception of one or two pieces of my nazi stuff, ALL of it is GI bringbacks.
Are you going to snub or disassociate yourself with WW2 vets because they have a war trophy?
I am "evil" because I collect them--does that make the veterans who fought and bled over there evil, too? Just because they brought them back?
I just don't understand this line of thinking.

One great example, though is this: You can find historic examples of K98 Mausers, marked with swasitikas AND the Star of David....the Jewish state held no "malice" towards these weapons or the swastikas stamped on them. They know what most of us already know= evil is in the heart of men.

But those of you who won't associate with us collectors at least know that you are not alone in your line of thinking.

There are millions of liberals in this country who think guns kill people and all gun owners are evil.

When I used to work at a well known gun store in the metro area we would get boxes full of used weapons from the police. They all had case numbers and evidence numbers written on them with white out pens. I have no idea how the owner got his hands on them or why the police had them in the first place. Maybe they were used in crimes, maybe they were stolen and never returned, maybe some old lady just didnt like guns and handed them over to the cops when her husband died. All I know is that we would scrub off the numbers and sell them the same as any of our other used guns.

Just some food for thought. If you really feel that strongly about not owning guns with violent histories behind them then you should only buy brand new guns. If you buy a gun used, you really have no idea what that gun has seen in its life.
