I use my S&W Governor for that. Also no children in the house so it stays very close to me by my Lazy Man chair (Not in the cushions). Currently it is loaded with 6, Hornady Critical Defense Triple Threat .410 Shot. but, have two moon clips of .45ACP close by. Don't think I will need the .45's but good to have just in case. It's pretty much all the Governor does though is be there if needed.

If you feel compelled to keep/hide a firearm in the cushions of you couch:

1.Change the crowd you run with.
2.Move to a safer neighborhood.
3.Keep your doors locked.
