I have a FN ?Browning 16 gauge that is a 2 9/16 chamber. I do not want to buy $13.00 a box shells. I would like to have it converted to accept 2 3/4 shells. That is if it is not going to cost an arm and a leg. Then i will just move this one along and look for another.

That's a pretty collectable shotgun and any alterations to it would destroy any collector value. It can be done, but would require extending the chamber and forcing cone, as well a enlarging the ejection port, which mean machining the receiver and unless you want bare steel, you should include a receiver reblue job. If the gun is in any kind of condition I probably wouldn't do it if it were mine.

I am not a collector. It is in shooter condition. If it can be converted for a reasonable price then I will get it done. If not I got it for not a lot of money and would be up for trading or selling.
