Need feedback on house siding work

Pretty easy to google manufacturer recommendations and installation instructions for everything he is doing. I would do so, print them, hand them to him and tell him this is how you expect everything to be done. No exceptions.

As a home owner who has never done this kind of work ,you sometimes have to go with logic and common sense.

The facts are that water will get behind things if not properly installed.

Vinyl is kinda like roofing and must be installed to shed water as it runs down it.

If it looks as if water can go behind something ,then it probably will.

I've been doing siding for a long time and it looks like other than the bad choice in tape and the piece of trim his air pressure is to high on your getting a quality job. You should talk to your contractor before firing him and see if he is willing to redo the flashing and trim.

I don't know much about vinyl siding apart from the problems I had with mine. They did a decent job I guess. There was some things that I was very adamant about and let them know that from the beginning. Honestly if I had to do it over again I would of done hardi plank. One thing is it looks like he's using a nail gun, You aren't supposed to dive the nails in tight. That's why the vinyl has slotted nail hole so it can expand and contract
