Snakes, Coyotes and Target practice is 3 differient guns.

Snakes, 410 shot shell, a nice choice is a Bond Derrigner, takes 410 shelll, 45 LC. Or the Judge it takes the same ammo. Perfect for home defense and snakes.

Coyotes, I think you'll need a rifle, AR or the like with a scope. Walmart has a Mossberg 22 for a good price. cool looking AR, almost bought one today.

Target shooting. - Take you pick, automatic 9mm, or 45 are the most popular. I like my Sig 229, or a 1911 45 is always a good choice.

How much you got to spend?

I recommend you go find a range and rent some, for 15 bucks you can rent and most places let you swap out and try lots of stuff. Go during the day when its not crowded.

Taurus judge given the snake issues. Or, a .357 with a few ratshot and hollowpoints. Me? I'd opt for the judge using #4 and a slug or two.

I agree, The Judge is pretty versatile, there's a ton of ammo out there for that gun. Some of the 410 shells have 4 or 5 bullets that are 38 size projectiles.

I like the 410 bird shot, it will take out an intruder, but wont go thru the walls and take out family and friends.

What are you comfortable with? Are you carrying open or concealed? Concerned about weight? I would likely lean towards a .45acp or 9mm auto, or .357 revolver. All rounds are common, you have a good selection in options as far as ammo goes for purposes, and perhaps most importantly ammo for training can be had at reasonable prices, something that I would not say with a Taurus judge, however, a Governor might fill the roll, though a .357 might still be my choice.
