Need help from S&W Experts to identify gun

Tommy, is the Extractor Star Nickel-plated or Blued? If it's Nickeled, it has definitely been refinished in Nickel, as the Factory NEVER Nickel-played that part...HTH...

I am sure it is not nickeled but dont recall for sure. If it was nickeled it is really diry because I do know it was dark the best I remember.

That looks just like mine except finish. Does yours have a number stamped in the yoke that is completely different than the serial number stamped on the butt of the gun?

Mine does not have a number on the yoke, just the bottom of the butt.
